![]() With the usual array of viewing angles, you’re sure to find one that works for you and, comparatively speaking, this table isn’t too cluttered. And the benefit of us playing in this table virtually is that an animated Indy jumps around pulling your attention to the action. There’s even a rudimentary FPS mini-game. This is definitely the way to play this table as it takes away the frustration of losing another ball cheaply and also lets you earn the score boosting, action-rewinding upgrades which again will mitigate some of the more problematic parts of this table.Īside from the standard pinball action, you do get a decent number of high scoring mini-games as well as an elevated tilting table where you have to guide the ball through switches while avoiding two large holes. ![]() ![]() You can play the various survival/timed modes which give you unlimited balls to use against a ticking time limit. However, Pinball FX 3‘s overall structure does mitigate this a lot though. Your mileage might vary, but we’re not rubbish at these games (although certainly not elite either!). But there are plenty of times where the ball just seems a bit unstoppable. The outlanes aren’t as problematic, thankfully. It’s been a constant annoyance since they started putting these ones out and certainly we found that a lot of our ‘lives’ were lost because the ball just seemed to always go straight down the middle. The obvious worry about this table is that its a Williams one and that means that the flippers are a little further apart than on the other Pinball FX3 tables. Of course like any table in the collection, there are a lot of linked objectives that you need to conquer in order to get to its ‘Wizard Mode.’ We’re not that good though. It absolutely gushes points at you too, which is always nice. In terms of pure playability, it’s a nice one with well-positioned sweeping ramps. Thankfully it pre-dates the awful fourth film.Īs a table this one is relatively easy to understand but with a couple of gimmicks to keep things interesting. As you’d expect it’s full of references, mini-games and sound samples based on the original trilogy of movies. As with many of their more recent tables, this one is based on an original Williams table, this time from 1993. Indiana Jones: The Pinball Adventure is the latest DLC for Zen Studio’s genre-leader pinball simulation suite Pinball FX 3. In response to this, however, Györkei was quick to add that there would be an alternative for those looking to maintain that classic DLC trophy challenge: "We elected to create ‘table awards’ in-game so we can have as many we’d like, keep the ‘ding’ feeling, and reward a collectable after you get the award.Main PS4 / Reviews tagged indiana jones / pinball / pinball fx3 / zen by Richie Still, limits or no, it was disappointing to hear that there would simply not be any individual table trophies to earn. Between these various platforms, an upper limit for DLC trophies was apparently about to be hit if not now, then at some point when new tables are released for the game in the near future. With this much DLC we are stretching these limits." By "this much DLC," Györkei is referring to the over 70 tables launching alongside Pinball FX - all of which arrive today, and not just on PS5 and PS4, but Xbox platforms, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Nintendo Switch (the latter of which doesn't even have its own trophies or achievements). ![]() The explanation for the change, according to Marketing Director Ákos Györkei, ultimately seems to come down to the platforms Pinball FX is releasing on: "There are certain platforms where you can have a limited number of achievements. To help understand why the new Pinball FX wouldn't be receiving these DLC trophies, we reached out to Zen Studios for some answers. While each table only ever featured one or two small bronze trophies, unlocking these rewards did offer some real satisfaction for players, so it was disappointing to hear they wouldn't be coming back. These DLC trophies would also feature in 2017's Pinball FX 3, but this time around the new Pinball FX would only be including those core trophies. To give players a trophy challenge related to the pinball table they were playing, Zen Studios attached DLC trophies to each of its tables instead. That meant the core Zen Pinball 2 trophies on the base game list had to be like the new Pinball FX trophies, focusing more on the game's features that could be tracked regardless of which pinball table you were playing. Since the game was listed on the PS Store as a free-to-download title, all the spending a player would do on the game was by purchasing individual themed tables in DLC packs. Pinball FX DLC trophies are getting replaced with in-game collectablesBack in 2012, Zen Pinball 2 changed the way trophies worked for Zen Studio's pinball games. Pinball FX DLC trophies are still with us.
